Monster of the Year, by Bruce Coville

Happy November! I hope you had a spooky-and healthy-Halloween. My family had fun dressing up for the holiday. We even convinced my husband to dress up, which was some kind of amazing.

I have to share this fun middle grade Halloween book I picked up on a whim for a fast read. Monster of the Year, by Bruce Coville. What a treat! I don’t want to give away all the fun twists, so check out the blurb…

From Amazon: “When Mike and Kevver announced their “Monster of the Year” contest it was supposed to be a joke. Of course, not everyone starts a joke with a 12-foot high billboard. The billboard causes a sensation . . . it even gets the boys an invitation to join their favorite DJ, Eddie “Skip” Toomaloo, on his morning radio show! It all seems like great fun, until they get a message from Transylvania. That’s when things begin to get seriously weird in this hilariously spooky book from the author of MY TEACHER IS AN ALIEN!”

Halloween passed, but it’s not too late to check this one out. I recommend this book to families and kids that enjoy humor and some spooky twists.
